Position Information The Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System (OCVAHCS) is actively recruiting a board-certified, board-eligible full-time permanent hospital employed Prosthodontist to join our Dentistry department. The Prosthodontist Physician is accountable to the Chief of Dental Service. The candidate is expected to provide specialty care to those who suffer from the results of head and neck cancer, fabricate fixed and removable restoration, implant restorations, conducting full mouth rehabilitations, anterior esthetic cases or any other advanced restorative dentistry, be familiar with digital dentistry and utilize digital workflows for treatment planning, diagnostics, and prosthetic design. The prosthodontist will also be covering the General Practice Residents and will have call responsibilities. Candidates will apply national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance, and management of patients. Additional duties include: Attending required staff meetings, communicating up and down the chain of command, and helping prepare heads-up and issue briefs related to adverse patient outcomes. Clinical Management including indirect patient care: open encounter and open consult maintenance, CPRS documentation requirements, monitoring of clinic management. Maintains involvement in matters concerning clinic productivity, relevant performance measures, Quality and Patient Safety oversight, as well as process improvements (system redesigns). Patient Care: Practitioners are expected to provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, treatment of disease, and care at the end of life. Medical/Clinical Knowledge: Practitioners are expected to demonstrate knowledge of established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and social sciences, and the application of their knowledge to patient care and the education of others. Clinical Judgment: To ensure practice-based learning and improvement, practitioners are expected to be able to use scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate, and improve patient care. Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Practitioners are expected to demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the health care team. The OCVAMC is located in Oklahoma City, OK and is the “Flagship” for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System (OCVAHCS) - a Joint Commission accredited, referral level 1b (medium complexity) facility. The Dentistry department serves patients across the spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care for more than 70,000 veterans in an area that includes 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice Dentistry in the U.S. Board Certified in Prosthodontics is preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered. The salary range is $240,000-300,000, depending on the years of experience. Potential for an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000.
