Position Title: Human Resources GeneralistCompany Overview: At Bobo’s Oat Bars everything we create is made with love and baked by hand using wholesome, simple ingredients you can find in your own kitchen. Working at Bobo’s is a labor of love. Our experienced staff exudes integrity, grit, passion, and a unified desire to share the love of Bobo’s and our products from their hearts to others. Bobo’s employees embrace and reflect the Bobo’s values being collaborative, adaptable, passionate, persevering, and fun-loving. Compensation and Benefits:Salary range is $55,000 to $65,000 annuallyBenefits include bonus potential, health, dental and vision insurance, 401k with 4% company match, equity shares, sick and vacation leave.Position Summary: The Human Resource Generalist will contribute to the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department with an emphasis on maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, management of the leave of absence process, and facilitation of benefits programs. This role will also assist in hiring and interviewing staff, enforcing company policies and practices, and coaching and counseling managers and employees.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Manage compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.Oversee and administer leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Colorado’s Family & Medical Leave Insurance Program (FAMLI), other state and local leave laws, Workers Compensation claims and short-term or long-term disability plans.Handle the leave administration process from the employee’s initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, requesting medical certification as needed, and communicating with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work.Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.Assist with processing payroll bi-weekly in timely fashion by reviewing timecards for accuracy and completionEnsure timely processing of workers compensation claims; Act as point of contact between injured employee, workers compensation claims adjustors, and designated medical providers to manage proper care and efficient resolution of workers compensation claims. Conduct internal audits of employee documents, confirming employee files are kept current, well organized, confidential, and in compliance with state and federal regulations.Review, process, and respond to unemployment insurance claims, within established time frames to ensure compliance with state agency regulations.Complete special human resources projects by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions communicating project status and issues; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports.Facilitate the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and 401(k) planMaintain management and employee confidence and protect organization operations by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, and aptitude exams and certifications.Assist in the design and development of departmental SOPsFoster a positive culture of respect and teamwork by treating coworkers with dignity and striving to exemplify the Bobo’s values: Collaborative, Adaptable, Passionate, Perseverant, and Fun-LovingFollow safety policies and protocols; alerting others regarding potential concerns.Uphold highest standards of food safety and product quality through observance of allergen protocols, and Good Manufacturing Practices; promptly report food safety and quality issues as necessaryPerform other duties as assigned.  Supervisory Responsibility: May coordinate the assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department. Qualifications / Education / Experience Desired:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferredThree to five years of human resource experienceBilingual English / Spanish requiredExtensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations as well as the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable lawsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite software.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Language / Mathematical / Reasoning Ability:Must be able to accurately document information in a timely mannerMust be able to write and speak, both clearly and effectivelyMust be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Supervision Given: This position will report to the HR ManagerThis position is expected to be able to work with minimal oversight at times, and be able to confidently handle situations on their own Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Shipping Coordinator is an essential member of the Gold Seal team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing all out-of-state shipping operations. This role coordinates orders between administrative and warehouse teams, liaises with shipping and freight brokers, and delivers top-notch customer service to Gold Seal’s out-of-state clients.
